Keaukaha Military Reservation is a new Joint Military Center for the Hawaii Army National Guard, the United States Army Reserve and the Hawai‘i Office of Veterans Services on the Big Island.
The six new buildings include: Vehicle Maintenance Building and Flammable Material Storage area; administration/ Unit Storage Building; Classroom Building; Lobby and Community Service Building; State Maintenance Building; and Assembly Hall/Physical Fitness Building. The buildings total 112,000 square feet on a 19.5-acre site.
The project was awarded LEED® Gold. MEH prepared the Request for Proposal (RFP) for this Design-Build project. MEH areas of responsibility included Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Fire Alarm/Mass Notification. MEH also provided Enhanced Commissioning services for the entire facility of six buildings, 108,053 gross SF.
